MONEY MATTERS

Our parish has been affected by the long term suspension of public Masses and access to the church, not least financially, as there are no weekly offertory collections.

However, many of the running costs of the parish remain largely unchanged, in fact they have increased with the purchase of what is necessary for the eventual reopening - hand gel and dispensers, various cleaning materials, an antiviral agent, PPE for volunteer cleaners and stewards etc., and these things may well have to be replenished for some months to come. The bills keep coming in relentlessly and it is a worry.

If you can continue to make your weekly offering you might consider setting up a standing order or sending in a one-off donation.  If not, may I encourage you to put aside your weekly offerings during this time, ready for when we are allowed to gather in our churches again?

Thank you to parishioners, and even some from other parishes who regularly come here for weekday Mass, who have given generous donations, posted their offerings, or set up a standing order. Your continued generosity to the parish is greatly appreciated.

I am aware that some of our parishioners may be experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the pandemic. No one should feel obliged to give what they cannot afford.

Setting up standing orders
If you can make your offerings by standing order, it is still the best and most cost-effective way to ensure the parish benefits from whatever giving you can afford.
These are easily set up through online banking, telephone banking or at your bank branch.

The details you need to do this (or to make a one-off donation) are:

Account name: Our Lady of Mount Carmel

                          Sort Code:  40-41-07

                         Account No. : 51094106

Please quote your name as a reference.
